The founding father of the brand is Zinovy Davidoff. In the beginning, coffee production was out of the question. The family of a Kyiv Jew was engaged exclusively in the tobacco business until 1911. After emigration to Geneva, the family moved to the USA. In the United States, the family business quickly gained momentum, and after some time the Davidoff tobacco empire grew to unprecedented proportions.
It is believed that the heyday of the company was the Second World War. Zinovy, together with his son Chaim, developed his own mixtures and accessories for cigarettes. A little later, Davidoff watches and the famous coffee of the same name appeared on sale.

The history of the brand goes back more than a hundred years: the company, which at that time had a much narrower specialization, began its existence in 1912. The Davidoff brand was founded by Zinovy Davydov, who was born in Kyiv, and subsequently emigrated with his family to Geneva and soon changed his first and last name to Zino Davidoff.

His father was engaged in the sale of tobacco and cigarettes of various types. Zino Davidoff followed in his footsteps: he traveled to South America, where he studied technologies for growing various varieties of tobacco. After this, Zino went to Cuba, where he stayed for 5 years and became an expert in the tobacco business. Returning home to Switzerland in 1929, he took over the family business after the death of his father.
In 1946, the company released the first branded line of Davidoff cigars, which conquered not only Europe but also America with their quality. In the 1980s, Zino Davidoff began producing luxury goods such as perfume, cognac, glasses, watches, and writing instruments. Since the 1990s, the company began producing coffee from selected Arabica beans.
Today the owner is Tchibo Company
After Zino's death in 1994, the Davidoff tobacco and coffee brands were acquired from his heirs by the German company Tchibo. Now coffee is produced by this coffee magnate under license in Germany and some other European countries.

Origin of raw materials
As already mentioned, the company uses 100% Arabica beans to produce Davidoff coffee. This variety is grown in Ethiopia. It is there, between the northern and southern tropics, that the plantations of the famous product are located.
