Coffee beans sold in vacuum packaging are the best sellers. The taste of this drink is rich with light notes of berries and chocolate, and the aroma is delicate and slightly tart.
A little history about the brand
The tea and coffee company Orimi Trade is the owner of the Jockey trademark. The production is located near St. Petersburg and produces about 400 types of products.
The plant produces the following brands:
- Greenfield;
- Jardine;
- Gita;
- Java;
- Tess;
- Princess Nuri.
In October 1994, the Orimi Trade organization was created, which at first only imported Ceylon tea. A little time passed, and the company became one of the largest tea suppliers in the Russian Federation. Five years after registration, Orimi Trade created the Jockey brand and began supplying coffee to the Russian market. At first, the grains were processed in other countries, but soon the company established its own production for roasting grains at a Russian factory.
After 16 years, the trademarks Jardine and Jockey are among the most popular in our country. Now all Jockey products are produced in factories in Russia and Ukraine. Coffee beans are packaged in special bags in which the taste and aroma are preserved.
The production mainly uses Arabica beans, which are purchased in many countries.
The Orimi Trade company has received numerous awards and prizes. Instant coffee of the Jockey brand is successfully exported to some European countries. Production is gaining momentum and delights fans with high-quality products in the budget price segment.

Range
The Jockey coffee line is presented in a wide variety on the market. Among the main varieties are:
- ground;
- grain;
- soluble;
- flavored.
The most popular type is considered to be grain. This demand is determined by the high quality of the product, which retains all the beneficial substances and maximizes the taste and aroma of the grains.
Natural coffe
Most often, buyers give their preference to the traditional type of Jockey - natural ground or bean coffee. This product is intended for cooking using special equipment:
- coffee machines;
- French press;
- coffee makers
An ordinary Turk can also be used for cooking. The choice of a suitable means for brewing the drink depends on the degree of roasting of the grains. If the product is characterized by a coarse grind, it can be used to brew drinks in a coffee maker or French press. Fine grinding will be an excellent option for making espresso in a Turk or coffee machine for home use.
Medium grinding of grains can be used for cooking in any of the listed devices.
Among the assortment of ground natural coffee, several types stand out:
- Classic – Brazilian Arabica varieties are used as raw materials;
- Oriental - distinguished by fine grinding of beans, dark roasting of Arabica, wine, creamy aftertaste, spicy aroma;
- Traditional – medium grinding and medium roasting, with a slight bitterness.
To choose which of the presented types is better, you need to evaluate your own taste preferences. It is also necessary to take into account the method of preparing the drink and the degree of roasting of the beans.

Scented line
The line of natural ground products has been expanded to include flavored varieties. Among them are:
- Blood orange – complements the flavor characteristics of Arabica with notes of citrus;
- Irish cream – characterized by a mild taste and subtle aroma of Irish liqueur;
- Hazelnut – when brewing coffee, this product produces an aromatic drink with nutty notes;
- Bavarian chocolate has a distinctive feature in the form of a chocolate aftertaste and a subtle cocoa aroma.
These types are distinguished by an enhanced aroma uncharacteristic of espresso. This effect is achieved through the use of flavorings.
Line of instant coffee
Jockey also produces a wide range of instant products. Different types of instant coffee differ in the degree of roasting of the beans. It is worth considering that thanks to the use of specific packaging material, as well as packaging technology, the instant product can boast a long shelf life.
Another positive feature of this product is the ease of making coffee from it. So, the contents of the package are poured with boiling water, mixed thoroughly and served. But you need to be prepared for the fact that the richness of the taste of the drink will be inferior to that brewed from ground grains.
Among instant products, the most popular is 3 in 1, which allows you to minimize preparation time. The following varieties are distinguished:
- Classic;
- Caffe Forte;
- Latte Art.
This variety helps replace manual brewing of cappuccino and latte.

Grain grinding degree
The brand produces coffee products of varying degrees of grinding, which should be taken into account when preparing the drink. Each type of brew requires a specific grind.
Coarse grinding of beans is suitable for those who brew the drink in a press kettle. It is presented in Jockey Traditional or Classic.
If you are buying a product to be prepared in a coffee machine or geyser coffee maker, then you should choose finely ground beans. These are presented in Jockey Italiano and all flavored types.
A very fine grind is suitable for brewing a drink in a Turk or cup.
In the morning, it is advisable to prepare medium-roasted coffee, which contains caffeine. It will fill the body with strength and energy.
In the evening, it is better to brew a dark roast drink. It will turn out soft and tender and will not cause insomnia.
You can easily experiment with flavored varieties and prepare various cocktails based on them.
Product line
All varieties presented in the line are grown in Brazil, India, and Africa. It’s worth mentioning right away that the mixtures are not the most elite varieties, but they are quite acceptable in cost and taste characteristics.
To get a certain taste, technologists mix Arabica and Robusta in different proportions, experimenting with varieties. Some types of Jockey coffee contain only Arabica, but these blends do not differ in strength. Others contain more caffeine by adding Robusta, which has twice the alkaloids.
Cereal types
The Jockey grain blend can be purchased in the same proportions as ground. The advantage of coffee beans is that in their entire form they retain their aromatic qualities and taste for a long time. The blends are intended for consumers who have a coffee grinder or automatic coffee machine at home.
Just before preparation, a portion of the beans is taken and ground, which makes it possible to obtain a more aromatic drink.
You can choose according to the quality of roasting. Types of Jockey coffee:
- light roast;
- average;
- dark.
Those who do not like bitterness are recommended to buy a composition that does not contain robusta.
Packages of coffee beans have a special filter that helps remove carbon dioxide from the packaging, preventing air from getting inside.
Soluble
From soluble varieties you can choose Triumph, Favorite, Imperial or Champion. The products are supplied in glass jars or foil bags. Composition – from 100% Arabica to several varieties.
Instant Jockey for brewing in a cup is made from natural beans - not the best quality, since no one uses elite single-origin coffee beans to make freeze-dried or powdered coffee.
The advantage is that the production process takes place with minimal access to oxygen, so the granules oxidize less and retain their taste longer. Packaging that protects the composition from oxidation is of great importance.
Disposable 3 in 1 bags Jockey are available in three types - Classic, Forte, Latte Art. They are convenient to carry with you to work or travel. You can brew directly in a cup.
Jockey Amaretto Recipe
To prepare an aromatic invigorating drink, you will need a Turk, it is better if it is made of copper. Prepare coffee, sugar and clean water.
First, warm up the empty Turk over the fire. Then sprinkle Jockey with amaretto. For one serving of the drink you will need one teaspoon. Pour one hundred and fifty milliliters of water and place the container on medium heat. As soon as the foam starts to rise, turn off the heat. Stir and pour into a cup. Add sugar to taste and enjoy the noble drink.
The rich assortment of Jockey coffee provides the opportunity for each customer to choose a drink to suit their taste. A high quality product is produced in different packages at an affordable price. The taste of this drink will appeal to any connoisseur of real coffee.
Brand advantages
Among the advantages of ground coffee Jockey are:
- Affordable prices. The manufacturer does not use beans that are expensive to purchase, but compensates for the quality with new roasting and packaging technologies. Thanks to this, the quality of the finished mixture improves.
- Available in different grind levels. Buyers who do not have a coffee machine or coffee grinder at home find varieties that suit them.
- To produce a soluble analogue, natural grains are used. Maybe not of the highest quality, but in solid packaging, processed using modern technologies. Contains natural caffeine.
- The degree of roasting can be selected by testing - there are small packages for this.
The fact that the company produces an economy class drink of good quality at an affordable price is evidenced by the constant growth in profits and the number of customers.

Flaws
You have to be realistic: at the price that supermarkets charge for Jockey, you cannot get an elite variety from Ethiopia, as the manufacturer claims. You need to know that both elite and ordinary trees grow in that region - it depends on the area where the plantation is located.
Elite varieties are sold only in specialized stores and are not mixed with anything. All the rest are purchased by blend manufacturers; they cost much less.
Uganda, India, Brazil, Vietnam also obtain most of their raw materials from ordinary trees growing below 400 meters above sea level.
Plain trees do not produce bright, memorable tastes, so advertising slightly exaggerates the advantages of the brand.
TRADITIONAL METHOD OF BREWING MATCH
According to the classic recipe, Matcha tea powder is brewed with hot (not boiling) water at a temperature of 80°C. The Japanese traditionally use a Chashaku bamboo spoon (茶杓, rH. Chashaku) to transfer the required amount of tea powder into a cup - one scoop with this spoon will take 1 g of tea. The powder is poured with water and whisked with a Chasen (Japanese 茶筅, rH. Chasen) bamboo whisk until smooth, so that there are no lumps.
Tea is brewed in two ways - Usutya (weak) and Koitya (strong). A serving of Usucha (Japanese: 薄茶, rH. Usucha) is prepared from 2 g of tea and 60-70 ml of water, whipped with quick movements, often until foam forms. For a portion of Koicha (Japanese: 濃茶, rH. Koicha) take 4 g of tea and 50 ml of water, it turns out very thick, and when whipping it, the movements should be measured, Koicha is prepared without foam. Usually, for Koichi, the Tokusen Matcha variety is chosen from tea leaves from old trees (more than 30 years old); this variety has a more delicate and mild taste and is more expensive.
Purchase of raw materials and features of coffee production Barista
Green beans are purchased at:
- Indian,
- Latin American,
- African and other plantations, not with mass deliveries, but purely on personal contacts.
These beans are harvested only by hand, using different processing methods. After sorting, the products go directly from the supplier to the company's plant. Here, using different blends, the coffee is roasted and dried.
When dried, bean grains can be removed from the pulp and peel or peeled and washed. Different approaches to this process give different tastes to the beans. They are obtained either with a rich, spicy taste or, with the second method, with a clean, transparent coffee taste and sourness.
Separation of grains is their thorough cleaning, with the removal of foreign objects using a magnetic method, because 1 ton of raw materials may contain:
- iron - 1 kg;
- stones - up to several kg;
- other impurities.
Barista coffee is roasted in several cycles. One cycle processes 500 kg of beans. The moisture content of the raw materials is taken into account here.
Foreign specialists do the roasting at the plant. Because roasting is a real art, and it needs to be learned.
After roasting, different types of roasted coffee are sent for storage in their own separate bunker. Then the recipe parameters are verified, and a computer program is created for them to determine the number of grains and proportions for mixing in a common container.
Grinding is done in a mill whose millstones are very sensitive to foreign objects. They, moving apart, immediately throw them away.
Thanks to a vacuum machine, briquettes are formed using packaging film, taking into account its porosity and paint composition. This packaging system is the property of the enterprise.
Coffee making technology
To make coffee, the manufacturer purchases beans from countries such as Brazil, India, and Ethiopia. These countries occupy leading positions in the world coffee export market. When making Jockey coffee, several roasting technologies are used: dark, medium and light. Lightly roasted Jockey coffee has a slight sourness. Most often, medium roast coffee is found, in which the drink has a rich and bright taste. By vigorously roasting the beans, you can completely get rid of the sour taste and get a bright and rich drink. But the stronger the roasting, the more subtle floral, citrus, and woody notes of taste are lost. In the Jockey brand, even the most sophisticated coffee lover will be able to choose the right drink for themselves. The coffee production process is fully automated. After roasting and grinding, the coffee is vacuum packed or packaged in a glass or plastic jar to preserve its aroma and taste. Any of the listed packaging is chemically inert, which means that coffee will not absorb foreign odors and tastes.
"Jockey" medium strength
Today, the range of this product pleasantly pleases its fans. Ground “Jockey” coffee can be prepared in any convenient way - brew in a Turkish coffee pot, cook in a coffee maker, or simply pour boiling water over a spoonful of powder. In any case, the aroma and taste of the coffee drink will be fully preserved.
“Jockey Classic” is created from several types of Arabica, has a light chocolate note, characteristic sourness, rich aroma and soft taste. This type is preferred by people who are not fans of too strong coffee. Gentle roasting gives the drink a delicate and noble character. “Traditional” is characterized by a more expressive aroma. The richness and fullness of taste attract lovers of stronger coffee. The thickness of the drink, its delicate bitterness and light sweet tint are an excellent basis for preparing a variety of coffee cocktails.
