Coffee and banana recipes - an unusual combination with a delicate taste

Coffee with banana is an exotic drink. The unusual composition surprises even seasoned gourmets. According to legend, like coffee with orange, banana mix appeared where there were a lot of tropical fruits and coffee plantations. This is Brazil.

Today Brazil is in 4th place in banana production. The most popular countries for drinking the drink are the United States and Japan, but its prevalence is growing every year.

In America at the beginning of the twentieth century they even tried to replace black coffee with banana coffee. This was motivated by religious preferences, as well as a healthy lifestyle. The substitute contained roasted wheat, bran and molasses. But the experiment failed and coffee only gained momentum.

Raf coffee - what is it?

Raf coffee is more correctly called a coffee-based cocktail. Classic raf coffee is mixed in a 1:2 ratio, where one part of coffee is divided into two parts of cream or milk.

The very idea of drinking coffee with cream was born a long time ago, and its authorship was lost in the darkness of time. But raf coffee was first prepared in the 90s in one of the Moscow coffee establishments.

  • Participants in the events say that this happened in a small Coffee Bean store near Kuznetsky Most. There they sold grains, freshly ground coffee and prepared a drink. In the mid-90s of the last century, one of the regular visitors named Rafael asked to make him “delicious coffee.” But he didn’t like the classic espresso recipe. The barista mixed espresso with cream, added vanilla sugar and steamed the resulting mixture directly in the cup. Rafael liked the resulting cocktail, and he began to order it constantly.
  • Regulars of the establishment quickly appreciated the recipe and began asking to make coffee “like Raf’s.” The name of the recipe stuck, and that’s how the famous Raf coffee appeared.
  • Among the first baristas to prepare raf coffee was Tatyana Elizarova, who later became a two-time winner of the Russian Barista Championship and European Champion.
  • Very quickly it became widespread. The classic recipe was creatively processed and supplemented, and now raf coffee is prepared in a wide variety of ways.

You can also find an alternative version on the Internet. In it, the first sip of raf coffee is attributed to the Emperor of Lian China himself. They say that the lord mixed coffee and full-fat milk, and fell asleep before tasting the drink. Flower petals fell into the cup, the awakened emperor drank his coffee and felt a surge of vigor. Anything is possible, of course, but only in the 6th century, when the Lian dynasty ruled, coffee had not yet become widespread, so it is unlikely that the emperor indulged in a cup of raffa.

How to choose the right fruits for healthy nutrition

To choose bananas that will have only positive effects, you need to follow simple rules when purchasing:

  • the shape of the banana should be streamlined and smooth, without any protruding bumps;
  • the peel should be an even bright yellow color, without gloss. Otherwise, this is the first sign that the fruit has been treated with chemicals;
  • if the banana has a greenish tint, it is a sign of unripeness. Eating such fruits has an adverse effect on health, because the composition contains a large amount of “heavy” starch, which the intestines are not able to digest;
  • black dots on the peel throughout the fruit indicate its ripeness, but black spots should alert the buyer.

Fruits that have a different shade are also not recommended for consumption. Most often, the color changes due to frostbite, and frozen bananas lose their entire complex of vitamins and minerals.

Which bananas are healthier?

  • The green type of bananas is neither healthier nor more harmful than the yellow ones, because... they have the same composition of microelements. The only difference is that starch turns into sugar as it ripens. Unripe berries improve the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, do not increase sugar levels and give a feeling of satiety.
  • Dried bananas provide undoubted benefits because... contain 2 times more carbohydrates, but do not change their calorie content, in addition, they do not harm people prone to allergies. Indicated for use in diseases of the brain, heart, liver and intestinal problems.
  • Dried bananas last longer, retain all their benefits, regulate the functioning of the cardiovascular system and remove harmful excess fluid.
  • Despite their availability, some people use frozen bananas, they do not cause harm, they have the same calorie content, but can be useful when preparing ice cream, pastries and desserts, bringing maximum benefits.
  • To diversify your diet, you can add baked bananas, which retain microelements during processing.
