Let's drink coffee in a new way: unusual recipes for your favorite drink

The joy of going to our favorite coffee shops is not yet available to us, but great coffee can be made at home. For those who are tired of drinking classic Americano and the usual cappuccino every day, we have collected 10 simple but original recipes that will diversify your morning (and not only) and help you feel like a real barista.

Coffee for all the recipes we have chosen can be brewed in a simple cezve or geyser coffee maker. For a cezve it is better to use the finest grind, and for a geyser coffee maker - medium: this will allow the taste of the coffee to develop properly.

All recipes are for one mug. The volume of coffee is what you are used to, on average 150-200 ml of black coffee.

Warm bumble

· 150–200 ml of freshly squeezed orange juice, if not, packaged juice will do, but always with pulp · honey or caramel syrup · ground coffee and water · orange zest or cinnamon stick for decoration

Another interesting option for citrus lovers. It is better to serve this drink in a tall transparent glass. Brew coffee as usual, heat the juice, but do not bring to a boil. Add honey or caramel, then pour in juice, about 2/3 of the total volume of the glass, then pour in coffee. You can decorate with orange zest or a cinnamon stick. Before use, mix thoroughly.

You can also make a cold version. Everything is the same, but the coffee must first be cooled. On a particularly hot day, you can also add ice.

This coffee got its name from the English “bumble bee” - “bumblebee”, because before the layers are mixed, it really resembles a striped bumblebee.

Coffee with nuts

· 1 tablespoon roasted hazelnuts or any other nuts · ground coffee and water · optional whipped cream

Grind the nuts in a coffee grinder. Add them along with ground coffee to water and cook over low heat, without bringing to a boil. When the coffee rises, remove from heat. If desired, you can add a little sugar to enhance the nutty flavor. Strain and pour into a large cup. Garnish with whipped cream if desired.

Coffee with fresh mint

· 4–5 fresh mint leaves · sugar to taste · ground coffee and water

Brew coffee as usual. Wash the mint leaves thoroughly and tear them into small pieces. Place on the bottom of the cup and mash a little with a spoon. Add hot coffee, sugar and let brew for a few minutes.

Affogato

· vanilla ice cream · spices to taste - cinnamon, cardamom, thyme, thyme or anise, but no more than two at a time · ground coffee and water

Mix coffee with spices, add water and cook as usual. While the coffee is brewing, warm up a small cup (you can put it under hot running water or in the microwave) and put one or two scoops of ice cream in it. When the coffee is ready, slowly pour it into the cup. The coffee should not completely cover the ice cream - it should be slightly less than in a standard mug, approximately 100 ml. Drink immediately before the ice cream melts.

From Italian “affogato” translates as “drowned”. Affogato differs from classic glace in that the latter contains less coffee. In addition, for glace you need chilled coffee, and for affogato you need hot coffee.

Coffee and coffee drinks

Black Insomnia.

According to nutritionists, the daily dose of caffeine should not exceed 400 milligrams. However, the dose of caffeine contained in one large cup of Black Insomnia (350 ml) is almost 2 times the recommended dose. It contains 702 milligrams of caffeine. This dose will not only keep you awake, but can also lead to serious health problems.

The creator of this extreme coffee is Sean Kristafor. The secret of his drink is hidden in the method of roasting the beans. According to Sean, he could make the coffee even stronger, but he had to dilute the drink so that people could drink it.

This coffee was initially only sold in Cape Town, South Africa, but it became so popular that within a few months of its introduction in August 2021, it was offered in 22 countries around the world. According to the company, about 6,000 kg of this coffee are purchased every month.

Coffee with meringue.

A place called Take Out Drawing Cafe, opened in Seoul, was the first to serve espresso topped with a big mound of meringue. It may not be the most amazing coffee drink, but its popularity on social media is no coincidence.

Since the meringue doesn't melt, customers can safely dip the pieces into the drink and then eat them. It's no surprise that this drink has become incredibly popular on Instagram, again largely due to its appearance.

"Disassembled" coffee.

In this case, the point is not in the drink itself, but in its unusual presentation. Today, very popular drinks are those that are created by mixing various ingredients and then serving them to the client. But in one place in Australia they decided to go the opposite way and they were right.

In an Australian cafe, coffee lovers are served three containers with different contents on a wooden board - one contains hot water, the second contains milk, and the third contains espresso.

Many clients liked this presentation, and this trend began to gain more and more popularity.

Camel's coffee

To try this variety, head to the United Arab Emirates. Only here they prepare coffee with camel milk. The aftertaste after it, to put it mildly, is not very good. Camel milk has a thick consistency and salty taste. But it is much healthier than our cow’s milk, because it is considered the closest to mother’s milk.

Leche Manchada

A Spanish coffee drink that contains much more milk than coffee.
The literal translation is “colored milk.” The coffee drink originates from Spain. Suitable for all those who do not like coffee in its pure form, but prefer only a subtle hint of it. The preparation is based on milk, to which literally a drop of coffee is added. It turns out something like coffee milk or coffee-flavored milk. This drink is quite rare in coffee shops across Russia. Therefore, it is easier to prepare it yourself at home. All ingredients are simple and affordable. And in order to mix milk and coffee you don’t need any special skills. You can serve with cinnamon or cardamom.

Preparing Guillermo's coffee

If lemon juice is added to Roman coffee, then to prepare Guillermo you definitely need a few slices of lime.
The drink is not named after the type of coffee beans. Its origin is from Spain and it is named after a man's name. Why exactly this way and not otherwise - history is silent. Suitable for lovers of sour and citrus coffee. Considered the coffee equivalent of tequila. A real Guilmero combines a few ingredients: a cup of espresso and wedges of lime. At the same time, the amount of the latter can be added to taste; it is not regulated. Therefore, preparing the drink at home is easy. You can serve it with a jug of milk so that those who wish can make this addition at their own discretion.

Avolatte

Another coffee hit among young people and coffee lovers. This bold gastronomic experiment comes from the baristas from Melbourne's Truman Cafe. It is a latte served in an avocado peel. The delicate taste of the pulp of a ripe avocado extinguishes the slight bitterness of the latte. Enter the hashtag #avolatte on Instagram and admire this very beautiful presentation.

Mocha with white chocolate

· 200 ml milk · 200 ml coffee · 30 g white chocolate · 1 cinnamon stick

Brew the coffee as usual and in advance, but so that it does not cool down too much during preparation. Pour milk into a small saucepan, add chocolate, broken into pieces, cinnamon and place over medium heat. Cook, stirring, until the chocolate is completely melted. Taste - if the drink is not sweet enough, add a little more chocolate. Pour in hot coffee and stir. Remove the cinnamon stick completely or leave it for a beautiful presentation.

Description of Diablo coffee

I would like to immediately warn you that the alcohol in this recipe is quite exotic and difficulties may arise in purchasing these ingredients.
The drink contains several types of alcoholic beverage and combines all this with coffee. The original ingredients give it an unusual taste. To prepare at home, you will need the following ingredients: Sambuca liqueur, orange liqueur, simple sugar syrup and coffee to taste. For decoration you will need whipped cream and cherries. Liqueurs and syrup are mixed and infused for 15 minutes. Next, coffee is added there, brewed in any usual way. Top with whipped cream and a cherry. The drink is ready to be served.

Unicorn milk

The option is more romantic, although the name alone speaks for itself. The authors of the pink latte with berry-candy flavor from Coffee House 8/25 keep the recipe a closely guarded secret and assure that they use selected milk from purebred unicorns and star dust when preparing it. Slightly more realistic clients are admitted to adding a decoction of berries and topping with freeze-dried raspberries.

We hasten to assure you that we use natural ingredients in the preparation of drinks.
