Americano

This type of coffee appeared and got its name during World War II. American soldiers, not accustomed to strong coffee, began adding water to their espresso. The technique was then adopted by local baristas. This is how a new drink appeared, which over time gained enormous popularity. Americano is prepared like doppio - double espresso, and then diluted with hot water in a 1:1 ratio. Sometimes espresso and hot water are served separately so you can dilute the coffee to your liking.

The cost of a cup of vanilla coffee with cream depends on the coffee shop and the serving size. You can find inexpensive offers starting from 100 rubles, but on average a cup of 300 ml will cost 300-350 rubles.

You can also buy flavored natural coffee. 1 kg of Vanilla Rough Expert grains costs 1400-1500 rubles. Of course, we are not talking about cream and sugar here. But everyone who watches their figure will enjoy espresso with notes of vanilla.

Cappuccino

Cappuccino is served at 55 degrees in a warm cup, often with cinnamon sprinkled on top. Initially, one cup contained 90 ml, but now 150-180 ml servings are more common.

Cappuccino can be prepared with skim milk, soy milk or low-fat cream, which also affects the calorie content. And the main beauty of this type of coffee is the skill of the baristas, who draw various patterns on the milk foam.

Orange raff coffee: recipe for machine

First we brew the espresso. Already at this stage we need to decide how we will serve the coffee cocktail. Raf, since it is considered a subtype of cappuccino, is poured into medium-sized porcelain cups. But there is another way to serve it - in tall glass glasses with a small handle, like for a latte. In this case, you need to double the espresso from one shot to two.

  1. Pour cream, coffee and orange juice into the pitcher.
  2. Add two types of sugar.
  3. Beat with a cappuccino maker until a thick, dense foam forms.
  4. Warm up a cup or glass goblet. Pour in the prepared orange raff. As you can see, a small amount of citrus juice did not ferment the not very heavy cream. The mass turned out to be homogeneous.
  5. Garnish the coffee cocktail with an orange slice.
  6. Sprinkle the surface of the foam with cinnamon or grated zest.
  7. When serving in a glass, a spoon with a long handle is required. You can use it to collect the delicious foam that has settled on the walls.


Latte

The latte originated in the 19th century as a drink for foreign tourists who found espresso and cappuccino too strong. To make a latte, use three parts milk to one part espresso. The milk is whipped into foam, but more airy and less elastic than in cappuccino, and then poured into coffee. The result is a homogeneous light brown drink with a small head of foam.

Macchiato

Latte macchiato, or spotted milk, is a type of latte. The main differences from the original are the appearance and method of preparation, as well as a milkier taste. Macchiato is prepared by pouring coffee into frothed milk in a thin stream. Due to this, three layers are formed: milk on the bottom, coffee in the middle and foam on top. A macchiato is a brown spot left on the foam from pouring coffee.

Like latte, this coffee is served in tall, transparent cups. Various sweet syrups are often added to macchiato, which greatly increase the calorie content.

History of the drink

Perhaps the only drink from the coffee menu that originates in Russia. The fact is that in 1996 in Moscow, near the Kuznetsky Most metro station, a coffee shop-shop called Coffee Bean opened, where you could not only buy some magical coffee beans, but also try them in a ready-made drink, learning the history and characteristics.

It’s clear that the coffee shop almost immediately became popular, despite its tiny size.

And then one day a certain gentleman named Raphael (in some sources - Raphael) appeared there and ordered... tea. Like, coffee is completely not to his taste, it is impossible to make it so that Raphael/Raphael could like it.

Needless to say, the baristas took this as a challenge? They tried a lot of options for proportions, combinations and preparation methods, and still managed to make Raphael fall in love with coffee.

How? Using 10% fat cream, vanilla sugar and espresso, whisking all ingredients in one bowl until smooth and melts on your lips. Looking at the happy Rafa-Rafael, other people also wanted to try this wonderful drink, and so they christened it in honor of the newly minted coffee lover.

Nowadays the number of variations of raffa tends to infinity - it is prepared with cream of different fat contents or with very fat milk, lavender, orange, chocolate, spices, all kinds of syrups, and nut pralines are added.

What remains unchanged in raffe is its amazingly delicate structure and pleasure from every sip.

Raf

Raf is the invention of a Moscow coffee shop in the 1990s. It was named after a regular customer who asked for a drink that was neither too bitter nor too sweet. This is how coffee was born from espresso, cream and vanilla sugar, somewhat reminiscent of creme brulee in taste and color. A portion of classic raff coffee is small, only 130 ml, but due to the cream it turns out to be quite high in calories.

Orange raff coffee: homemade recipe

What if you don’t have a professional machine with a cappuccino maker at hand? This is not a reason to refuse a tasty drink. You can also prepare raf at home. For this you will need:

  • Turk or French press,
  • saucepan,
  • mixer or a simple whisk.

First of all, we brew coffee. For such purposes, it is better to take good elite Arabica varieties. The taste of coffee brewed in a cezve is greatly influenced by the quality of the water. What flows from our taps gives the drink a metallic and not very pleasant accent. Everyone knows how to make French press coffee. But preparing a drink in a Turk is an art.

  1. So, put 4 teaspoons of ground coffee into the cezve.
  2. Pour in 150 ml of cold water.
  3. Immediately add the required amount of regular sugar.
  4. We put the Turk on the fire.
  5. As soon as the foam rises, raise the cezve over the burner. As soon as the foam settles down, we immediately return the Turk to the fire. We repeat this three times.
  6. Ready coffee must be filtered.
  7. Heat the cream in a saucepan to 70 degrees. This can also be done in the microwave.
  8. Mix cream, coffee, vanilla sugar. Beat with a mixer or whisk until foam forms.

Flat white

Australians and New Zealanders are still arguing about who invented the drink, which over time became popular throughout the world. One thing is clear - in the 1980s, coffee shops, one after another, began to prepare a new type of coffee, somewhat similar to latte and cappuccino. A portion of doppio was mixed with slightly frothed milk. The drink had a more pronounced coffee taste than a latte, and a special velvety foam, less thick than a cappuccino.
