What it is?
The drip coffee maker has its own history. The device, which made coffee by straining hot water through ground powder, was first offered to consumers in 1800. The inventor of the method is considered to be Jean-Baptiste de Bellois, a church minister and Archbishop of Paris.
This invention was repeatedly modernized, redesigned, and presented in different countries. But the cooking principle remained the same. Thanks to the evolution of electrical devices, the drip coffee maker has its own heating source. A modern machine is presented in the form of an electric device with a heater, where hot water flows through a filter with ground coffee and enters the tank. What does it consist of?

Principle of operation

How to use a drip coffee maker is indicated in the instructions for each device. The operating rules are simple; even a beginner can learn how to do it. Still, how to use a drip coffee maker? This requires:
- Network connection.
- Filling the tank with water to the required level.

Disposable
This filter has a significant advantage - no coffee grounds need to be removed. After preparing the drink, the filtered element and contents are simply thrown away. Its disadvantage is considered to be a large expense of funds. Although the coffee maker may come with a certain kit, it still runs out after a while.
Disposable filters vary in size. Cellulose is used in their production:
- Unprocessed. It has a brown color. No bleaching components are used in production. Is an environmentally friendly option.
- Bleached. White bleached cellulose filters. Previously, chemical components were used in production; now oxygen is used for bleaching.
Sometimes there are filters made from bamboo fibers on sale; this is the same as cellulose, but has a higher cost. The average price is 2-3 rubles.
Dimensions
Filters come in different sizes - from 1 to 10, with 1 being the smallest. The numbers indicate the number of cups. If you don’t know which one you need, then you should choose 2 or 4. They are ideal for most coffee makers up to 1 liter. If the edges protrude a little, they should be folded or trimmed.
For devices with a volume of 1-1.5 liters, sizes 4, 6 or 8 are used. The exact size is indicated in the instructions, and sometimes on the packaging box. Disposable filters are suitable for any drip coffee maker.
