Hello everyone, friends. Today we will talk about what the Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine is. There is some confusion in society between the concepts of coffee machine and coffee maker, haven’t you noticed? Many of us believe that they are the same thing. Actually this is not true. A coffee maker is a device that requires some human participation in preparing a coffee drink, but in a miracle technology such as the Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine, human actions are reduced to a minimum.

When using a coffee machine, a portion of ground coffee should be fed into it; the preparation process itself must be controlled. In addition, the user must be able to correctly pour the raw material into the filter of the horn, correctly compact it and create a “tablet”, and after completing the work cycle, remove the coffee grounds from the filter.

In coffee machine technology, everything happens by itself after pressing a button; the user can only wait for the tonic, invigorating drink to be poured into the container. And although, unlike the bulky equipment of the recent past, modern models of coffee machines have become compact and almost silent, they are still more massive than coffee makers. This can be explained simply - the latter have fewer nodes and sections.

But every year coffee machine samples become smaller and smaller.

The Dolce Gusto brand is famous for constantly working to improve its products, and turning coffee brewing with them into a real art. Without exception, all copies of this company are distinguished by an exclusive design, which sets them apart from other similar offers on the store window.

Review: Nescafe Dolce Gusto Oblo coffee machine – Like a toy, interesting design and... making coffee!

No matter how many ways I brewed coffee, it finally came to a capsule coffee maker. I didn’t buy it, but received it as a gift for participating in the promotion. And of course I was glad to try it in action. The Nescafe Dolce Gusto Oblo coffee machine looks interesting, there is something cosmic about it. She also has a box like this, unusual:

Of course, there are instructions for it, but in essence it is intuitive, all control is carried out by two buttons.

This model comes in different colors; I found, as it seems to me, the most neutral one, suitable for a kitchen of almost any color: milky white and gray.

This coffee maker (I don’t dare call it a coffee machine) is sold under the Nescafe Dolce Gusto trademark, but, as you understand, companies producing coffee are not involved in the production of equipment, because the real manufacturer of this machine is Krups. It is far from new; it produces kitchen appliances, and in particular coffee makers. As I already mentioned, all control is carried out using two buttons.

I would even say one button (on//off) and a lever for supplying cold or hot water. All this is located on top and for me this is a plus; it is thanks to this placement that the youngest child has not yet been able to completely disassemble my new coffee machine.

The coffee maker is very compact, perhaps the narrowest of all that I have had, and therefore does not take up much space on the desktop.

The water compartment is located on the back wall; it does not look large at all, but its actual size allows you to prepare several cups of coffee/tea/hot chocolate without adding water.

The water tank is completely sealed, which is a big plus for me. Even if you poured water into it in the evening, dust, crumbs or stray cockroaches are completely excluded from getting into it. To remove the tank you need to grab it by the edge and pull it towards you, it will take a little force.

The volume of the water container is 0.8 liters. More than enough even for three full large servings of hot drink.

But from the outside he seems so miniature.

The fact that the water tank is completely removable also makes it easier to clean the coffee maker, its surface is smooth, there are a minimum of removable elements, so disassembling it takes no more than 15 seconds, after which you can simply wipe it with a damp cloth to remove dust and coffee splashes.

The only thing I did NOT like about the appearance of the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Oblo was the COLOR of the power cord. At first I even had a suspicion that my coffee maker was from some defective batch. Because tell me, why was it necessary to make the wire bright red for the white and gray coffee maker?

Not the most popular color, moreover, I will say, this is the only red thing in my kitchen. There are no complaints about the quality, I even found its SHORT length suitable because the socket is very close to the installation site. But then I looked more closely at the packaging and realized that this color was not an accident; on the packaging of this wire, even the word “New” is folded.

So be prepared. Nescafe Dolce Gusto produces capsules for drinks of various sizes, both for very small cups of single espresso, and for large portions of coffee and chocolate. Therefore, it is possible to change the height of the tray depending on the height of your cup. There are only two options, but in practice this is completely sufficient. Here is an option designed for a small and medium cup of drink, the tray is high:

And this option with a drip tray lowered down for tall cups and large portions:

In fact, if you suddenly decide to make a can of coffee, you can remove the tray altogether and not use it
