How does modern production work?

The Moccona brand has gained worldwide fame thanks to its focus on quality. Until now, the company is trying to purchase good grain and strictly follow production technology.

Instant products are 100% coffee beans. Technologists carefully select blends of Arabica and Robusta of various varieties, trying to produce goods with common organoleptic characteristics from one batch to the next.

Much attention is paid to roasting raw materials. Different types require different degrees of roasting of the beans. Also, a lot depends on the raw materials received - where they were grown, what the humidity level was that year. Experts select the optimal roasting program every time:

  • light for a mild taste;
  • medium for a richer drink;
  • dark for the most intense coffee, which is recommended to be drunk without milk.

At the last stage, the grains are moistened with water and quickly cooled with a stream of cold air.

To obtain freeze-dried coffee, it is first brewed and then frozen. When vacuum drying, ice crystals are removed, leaving a pure product in granules. Next, it is spray-dried, and after packaging and sale in retail chains, Mokko lovers receive high-quality coffee with an almost completely preserved aroma.

Brand history

The first shop of the same name selling tea, coffee and tobacco, called Douwe Egberts, was opened in a small village in the north of the Netherlands, Jaure. This tiny family business has grown into an international company in just a few decades of existence. Today, the brand’s products are supplied to all countries of Western Europe, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and others.

Mokkona coffee is a high quality product in the middle price category. These customer-optimal qualities are achieved through skillful planning and production. After opening a coffee shop for 20 years, its managers were able to become the main suppliers of similar products to most stores in their own and neighboring provinces.

Since 1889, the company has reached a new level of development, the work of sales agents has been revised, and new contracts have been concluded with direct producers of coffee and tea. A coffee roasting and packaging plant opened in 1919 in Utrecht, and later another plant was built in Belgium. The Douwe Egberts trademark acquires the status of a national company and becomes a supplier of tea and coffee to Holland and other European countries. This leads to a significant increase in demand and company revenue.

In 1978, two large coffee brands, Douwe Egberts and Sara Lee Corporation, merged, resulting in the emergence of the Sara Lee International management group. Makkon products appeared in Russia in 1990 and occupied one of the premium market segments.

Freeze-dried product with a rich taste, ideal for preparing many drinks and desserts

Reviews

Marfa: I bought Mokkona Dark - the coffee is very strong, the bitterness is pronounced, so I add 1 cup less than any other instant drink. I prefer to drink it with milk. I like the taste, it invigorates well, it’s good in the morning when it’s simply impossible to wake up, I also like the aroma, similar to the one that hovers in coffee shops.

Dmitry: I rarely drink coffee, but only good coffee. I bought Mokkona a long time ago, now I’ve returned to it again and have no doubt about the quality: still the same strength, amazing aroma and rich taste. Still, freeze-dried coffee is an order of magnitude better than regular instant coffee!

Svetlana: I prefer coffee drinks with milk, cream, liqueur. They take time to prepare, but I found my own option - to cook using instant Mokkona. It is always strong, with a pronounced aroma, gives good color and strength. Love him. Angelina: not impressed, even the most expensive elite instant coffee cannot be better than ground coffee.
