Traditional Supplements
To make the taste softer or, conversely, sharper, classic black coffee is drunk with:
- Sugar - only ¼ tsp. per cup allows you to soften the taste and set off the natural bitterness. With proper nutrition (PN), you can use natural sweeteners - stevia, agave syrup.
- Milk, cream - they make the taste softer. The higher the fat content, the richer the bouquet of the drink.
- PP supporters are recommended to use soy or almond milk, which adds additional taste and aroma and does not require the addition of syrup.
- Spices and herbs. Carnation and vanilla radically change the bouquet. You can drink coffee with cinnamon and cardamom if you eat properly - these additives will add an interesting flavor to the usual taste, and will also prevent your blood pressure from rising too much.
- Honey is a natural sugar substitute that enriches the coffee taste. It is better not to add it to a drink, since when heated it loses its beneficial properties, but eat it as a snack, like a dessert. Honey is also allowed for PN, but only in small doses.
- Alcohol. You can add a couple of teaspoons of cognac, rum, brandy, liqueur. In a hot drink, the alcohol will evaporate, but will leave a rich aroma and aftertaste.
A cup of black coffee contains only 1-2 kcal, but a little milk and sugar raises its calorie content to 54 kcal. Therefore, in its pure form, the drink is even welcome in the PN system due to its stimulating effect and acceleration of metabolism. You need to be careful with additives.

By the way, coffee shops serve water with espresso. This is no coincidence. A sip of clean water before drinking coffee helps cleanse your taste buds and better sense the bouquet. Also, espresso often makes you thirsty. The very strong drink is drunk in small sips, alternately with water, to tone down the bitterness.

To consolidate the effect, add a teaspoon of powder at the end.
Grind the yolks and powdered sugar until white. The mass will increase in volume by approximately 2.5 times. Add Mascarpone here and mix thoroughly with a spatula.
Next is the most accurate moment. Add the whites into the yolk-cheese mixture, one heaped tablespoon at a time, stirring slowly each time with a spatula. The movements should be as if along the contour of the barrel from bottom to top in one direction.
Mix chilled coffee with alcohol - this is an impregnation for cookies.
Dip each cookie into the mixture for about 5 seconds and place it next to each other in the mold. As a form, you can use one large or portioned bowls. In the latter case, the cookies can be broken. Coffee ice cream
We invite you to treat yourself to amazing homemade ice cream and coffee. This recipe will be especially useful in the summer. You will succeed!
Ingredients:
- 150 ml regular milk;
- 400 ml cream with a fat content of 30-33%;
- 2 tablespoons of ground coffee;
- 3 yolks;
- 100 g sugar.
Brew coffee and milk. To do this, add coffee to almost boiling milk, bring to a boil and mix thoroughly. Let cool and strain through a fine sieve.
In a saucepan, combine the yolks, milk-coffee base, sugar and whisk until smooth.
Prepare a large container of ice water that will easily fit the saucepan. You will need it to cool the custard. After this, the yolk mass, stirring all the time, needs to be boiled in a water bath until it begins to thicken. This usually takes about 10 minutes. As soon as the consistency begins to resemble condensed milk, remove from heat and place in a container with cold water, continuing to stir.
Next, whip the cream until creamy. To avoid turning the cream into butter, it is better to stop when the mass begins to form a stable texture. Add the cooled brewed coffee filling here and mix at the lowest speed until smooth. Transfer the mixture into a container for freezing. It is better to choose metal or plastic. Place everything in the freezer. It will take about 5 hours to harden. Every 30 minutes, it is advisable to remove the mixture and mix thoroughly to break up large ice crystals.
Homemade coffee ice cream will become your favorite treat.
What else can you drink coffee with?
Not only sweets and baked goods go harmoniously with espresso. It is pleasant and even healthy to drink coffee with cheese - it makes the taste of a strong, freshly brewed drink softer and more delicate. In addition, this combination is a hearty breakfast and does not contradict the concept of proper nutrition.
Cottage cheese also goes well with coffee. In general, this drink has a diuretic effect and flushes calcium from the body. Therefore, adding fermented milk products to espresso allows you to replenish the supply of a vital mineral in the body.

- 3-4 tablespoons of cocoa.
Soak gelatin or agar in coffee for 10 minutes. After this, add cognac and dissolve everything on the stove.

Examples of combinations

Ah, affogato...
It’s not difficult to guess where this exquisite but easy-to-prepare coffee miracle comes from. The cheerful, energetic Italians were the first to enjoy themselves. They combined two favorite products and got a new delicacy.
A source of limitless creativity has opened up for baristas. Hundreds of options for preparing affogato exist today, and their number is constantly growing. Based on the duo of coffee and ice cream, desserts with chocolate, fruits, nuts, syrups, and alcoholic beverages are prepared. Each person preparing dessert in a bar, coffee shop or at home has their own recipe. Affogato is beautiful in its diversity and constant sophistication.
Interesting: the name of the coffee-ice cream dessert is not Italian. Its source is even somewhat gloomy. The word ahogado translated from Spanish means “drowned,” but most likely the humorous Italians applied this synonym to coffee ice cream drowning in the waves. It sounds beautiful! And we drown in the ocean of pleasure when we taste it.
In Italy, they love affogato, especially when made with real Italian gelato - handmade ice cream. Technological progress has not affected the process of making ancient sweets. Like many decades ago, the old Italian recipe remains unchanged. Gelato-based affogato captivates discerning gourmets around the world.
Secrets of Italian delicacies
Attention: do not under any circumstances call the affogato dessert a type of iced coffee! Especially in the presence of Italians. The most harmless thing they are capable of is to become violently indignant. Glace is a type of coffee drink; it is cold espresso with ice cream or ice cream. Affogato is a dessert made with gelato (or exclusively vanilla ice cream) and hot coffee. This is fortissimo, the superlative degree of culinary sound!
In many countries around the world, “gelato Italiano” is made, but special freezers are used for preparation, which mechanically mix the ingredients and cool them to a given temperature. Real Italian gelato is different:
- manual cooking method;
- using only natural products;
- delicate creamy texture;
- delicate taste and unforgettable aroma;
- less fat content than classic ice cream (5 – 8%);
- longer melting period;
- short shelf life.
Interesting: gelato makers are respected people, professionals, virtuosos of their craft. In Italy they are called gelateriere. Maestros create in special gelateria establishments and prepare the national delicacy in small quantities.
The difference between traditional ice cream and gelato is noticeable. It cannot be stored for a long time, but the coffee delicacy obtained from it is incredibly tasty.
