That rare case when the wife asked to order something. An electro-mechanical cappuccino machine, that is, a kind of mini-kitchen drill for churning milk to make cappuccino. I immersed myself in reading and was completely blown away by the specification. Well, okay, the power was indicated. Okay, rotation speed. With a tolerance (!) But how many times have you seen the moment on the shaft
at kitchen utensils ?! But moment is moment, and Ikea also sells a cappuccino maker. What is typical - for 99 rubles, many, many times cheaper. But that’s the purpose of 18 points, that you can calmly wave and report. I borrowed the IKEA one from a colleague and tried to compare it in practice, video at the end.
Delivery and packaging
Sent on January 27, 2021, it arrived in the mail on February 20, judging by the track. But I had no time for that, I received it on March 2, when I came to my senses. Transport packaging - standard black PE bag, the product itself is wrapped in white foam Additional information
Commercial packaging is a box made of micro-corrugated cardboard, inside the device itself is in a tube made of bubble wrap.
Commercial packaging
Appearance
The appearance is generally traditional for a cappuccino maker. Perhaps larger and more brutal than usual
The shaft diameter, for example, is 2 mm compared to 1.5 mm for the IKEA one - here they are side by side
The whisk is removable and can be washed separately in the dishwasher.
On the second end there is an on/off button. The button is fixed, no need to hold it. Whether this is good or bad is a matter of taste.
Powered by three AAA batteries (or rechargeable batteries). The assembly can be inserted on either side, +- are not indicated. I think it just doesn’t matter which way the whisk rotates.
If you remove the battery pack, the end of the motor is visible. There is clearly nothing else there, dismembering it only with the destruction of the device, so I don’t see the point.
Instructions for use
With the help of the Ikea Produkt cappuccino maker, you can prepare your favorite drink at home. The whole process takes less than a minute.
The milk frother starts up thanks to a motor, for which you need to purchase 2 batteries.
First the milk is prepared. If the recipe calls for using something warm, it is heated. The liquid is then placed in a container that allows for easy whisking and minimizes splattering.
The main step is to place the whisk in the bowl and turn on the button. Just 20 seconds is enough to froth milk. If the foam is not satisfactory, the process is extended. After use, the device is wiped with a damp cloth, and the foam is combined with coffee.

As already mentioned, the specifications forced us to order the product.

Comparative testing
Having attracted the daughter, the operator simultaneously and under the same conditions churned the milk with the monitored and IKEA cappuccino makers. There’s a clear difference with the sound that I was humming under my breath and it’s completely inaudible. But from the picture you can see everything anyway.
Obviously, the monitor, with its power, churns milk much more strongly. Whether this is good or bad depends on the task at hand. For example, you won’t be able to churn milk directly in a coffee cup—everything will fly away. And in a glass or milk jug, much more foam comes out of the same milk. I would say that a half power setting and a single whisk would be helpful. Using the model number, I googled this cappuccino maker on Amazon. According to the link, the option costs some unhealthy money, but according to the pictures there are options approximately like the one reviewed by Bangood. Reviews on Amazon are generally positive, with some writing that the eggs and salad dressing are also off-putting. However, I’m a nerd when it comes to cooking, I have no idea why I should knock them down and didn’t bother testing them.
UPD I tried to make an omelette, since they asked in the comments. From two C0 eggs and a quarter cup of milk, it turned out to be quite a crapshoot. Frying pan with a diameter of 20 cm
The eggs were not stirred at full speed at first, then it accelerated. Next, he poured in the milk - it was already fully whipped.
My wife makes an omelette with a blender. It tasted roughly the same as hers, although my beloved always tastes better. /UPD
Hello, dear users and readers of the site!
Today my review will be about the Prodakt milk frother from the IKEA store.
About the so-called cappuccino maker)
I bought it for myself and repeated it for my daughter. She asked me to bring it to her and immediately began using it. But personally, I still couldn’t find a use for it. I always saw it in the store, but I didn’t quite understand why I needed it. This foamer always seemed to me like some kind of superfluous and not particularly necessary gadget in the kitchen. But I shouldn’t have thought so. Although from the moment of purchase it was lying idle in my nightstand, even unpacked, until my daughter returned home for the New Year holidays and began using it. This thing looks like this:
The spring, console and lever are made of stainless steel. Everything else is plastic and silicone rubber. This foamer is 20 centimeters long.
At home, my daughter uses it to its fullest: from whipping milk and cream to whipping egg whites for an egg white omelet.
I don’t know what power and rotational force it has, but it can froth milk literally in a matter of seconds!!! And, to be precise, 15-20 seconds and cool foam will be ready for your favorite cappuccino.
For foaming, you can use either cold or hot milk. But when she started using her cappuccino maker, my daughter was faced with the fact that the thick and very cool foam settles and sank very quickly. It later turned out that the reason for this was cold milk. If you warm it up slightly, the foam will whip up just as well, but it won’t settle) This drink looks cooler!
The springy part looks quite flimsy, but this is purely external. The foamer works just fine!
Unfortunately, I can’t add a video, but it seems to me that even from the photograph you can see how this foamer rotates and how the foam thickens right before your eyes.
Then my daughter adds this foam to regular coffee. Moreover, she tried both freshly brewed and instant, poured with boiling water, but she prefers to experiment with instant. She first adds a little milk to the coffee, mixes it, and then adds foam, it turns out very cool. Of course, for clarity, it was necessary to take a photo of homemade cappuccino, made by hand, in a glass mug, well, that is what it is!!!
The IKEA foamer runs on two AA batteries. To be honest, I was surprised, I thought that little fingers should be inserted there. But, having rummaged through my supplies, I found good and long-lasting Alkalisk batteries, all from the same IKEA.
The foamer works with them like clockwork!!! It is easy to care for: just wipe with a damp cloth and rinse the spring under waste water.
In general, we are one hundred percent satisfied with the performance of this milk frother. It’s clear that mine hasn’t been in use for very long, but my daughter uses hers every day and it works properly, which speaks to its durability!
I will recommend this thing to all people who are partial to coffee. Moreover, it costs mere pennies - 99 rubles.
Thank you all for your attention to my review and see you again on e, my dear readers and subscribers!
Total
The reviewed cappuccino maker is not just more brutal than the budget IKEA one, but more powerful and makes much more foam from the same milk.
However, the IKEA one is many times cheaper. Perhaps even too much dope - it will splatter everything in a small coffee cup. But in a glass or milk jug it shows a clear advantage. Moreover, if you need to whip up more than one cup of cappuccino. I think the reader will decide for himself whether the higher foam yield is worth the multiple difference in price. I like it. The product was provided for writing a review by the store. The review was published in accordance with clause 18 of the Site Rules.
Types of cappuccino maker
Coffee machines can be equipped with the following types of cappuccino maker:
- Mechanical;
- Manual;
- Steam (automatic).
Mechanical device
It is a mechanism that is produced separately from the coffee machine. The mechanical device resembles a regular kitchen mixer. As a rule, the device runs on batteries. Beating is done using a metal whisk in the shape of a spring. The nozzle is lowered into a container with a dairy product and beats, working at high speed.
Those who have watched baristas at work making cappuccino have probably noticed how the barista pours milk into the frothing container. Milk pitchers made of metal are considered the most durable and practical. Ceramic pitchers are available for sale, but they are often purchased for decorative purposes in the kitchen. Ceramics is too fragile a material, so experienced coffee drinkers prefer to use metal pitchers.
Another option for a mechanical milk frother: a container with a whisk built into the jug or bowl. The electric cappuccino maker works on the principle of a blender. The milk is poured into the bowl, the lid is closed, and after pressing the start button, churning occurs. Whipped milk is poured into the finished coffee.
Advantages of a mechanical device:
- Even if you don’t have a coffee machine at home, you can make real milk coffee.
- Affordable price.
- Easy to clean and assemble.
Negative points:
- The milk remains cold because the device is not equipped with a heater.
- The milk foam quickly disappears.
Manual cappuccino maker
Using this device, milk is frothed using steam. Through a hot steam supply tube, called a “panarello”, steam under high pressure is released into the cup of milk product, due to which the milk is whipped into a strong foam. Most often, coffee machines with a manual cappuccino maker are not equipped with a separate container. Milk is poured into a cup, placed under the panarello, and after whipping, the foam is poured into the finished coffee.
Why choose coffee machines with Pannarello:
- The foam is prepared quite simply.
- You can use the required amount of milk.
- The model is equipped with the function of whipping and heating milk.
- Easy to care for.
Negative points:
- Manual mode is used.
- The process needs to be constantly monitored.
